Transmission oil is another item. Factory service often doesn't require it be changed more than every 30,000 miles. But depending on how and where you drive it can get dirty and worn a lot quicker than than that. In general you want the fluid to appear cherry red and have almost no smell when you pull the transmission oil dipstick. When it is reddish brown and has a burnt smell, then your transmission is suffering. Many cars do not allow an easy change of the transmission fluid. It is often necessary to drop the pan of transmission to drain it, and then that usually holds 3-4 quarts and does not change the majority of the fluid which is in the torque converter.

pull auto parts Start searching for auto wreckers and junk yards in your area. Use the phone book and the Internet to locate them, and then give them a call to see if they are willing to accept your car. They will want to know some things about the car, such as the make, model, and year. They also will want to know what is wrong with it, if you know. If some junk yards are not interested, it may be because they have too many of that particular car. Keep calling, because someone will be willing to buy it.

Today more than ever, people are seeking used auto parts and not new parts. Therefore, it won't be hard for you to find a high quality part in your city. You may also use your sense of smell in detecting any vehicle problem. A sharp and light odor like that of a burnt toast is a sign of smoldering insulation or electrical short. If you can smell a foul scent of sulfuric rotten eggs, this is usually an indication of problems with the emission control or converter problems. If you can smell gasoline after an unsuccessful start, it is probably caused by a flooded engine. If you can smell a sweet and steamy scent, it may have been caused by leak of the coolant. Be smart to bring your car to the mechanic or auto repair shop and do not risk your safety in driving a car that smells great trouble.

sunrise used cars One of the first steps in repairing the car dent is to drill a hole in the center of the dent. This makes it easier to get to the middle of the dent, you can work your way from there once you've drilled the hole. Carefully insert a dent pulling tool into the newly drilled hold and then pull on the tool. Continue to do this until the dent on the car pops out or it appears to be flat. Once you've achieved this, remove the dent pulling tool out of the drilled hole. A dent pulling tool is generally found at your local auto parts store or any automotive merchandise store.

Next, have a look at the cylinder head threads. Are they in good condition, clean, and free of dirt? New ones should freely screw into the cylinder head by hand. Any binding of the plug is an indication of debris or damage in the thread. TIP: lube the plug threads with a little grease or spray lubricant before you install them, this will make for an easier removal at your next spark plug change.
